Iowa Department of Transportation Temporary Employment/Intern Opportunities
Applications are being accepted for computer aided drafting (CAD) and geographic information system (GIS) assistants. The Office of Transportation Data at the Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking qualified individuals for temporary employment to assist in the development and maintenance of cartographic products and the statewide roadway centerline network. Duties include the use of MicroStation and GeoMedia with a custom user interface to populate a database with the graphical representation of the roadway and other supporting data. Experience with or knowledge of CAD, GIS, a background in civil engineering, geography, community and regional planning, computer science or other related field is beneficial. Work hours are part time during the school year, may transition to 40 hours per week during the summer and pay is $10.74/hr.
